Guard Force Commander

Sanford Federal Inc. is seeking reliable and vigilant individuals to serve as Guard Force Commander within the local guard force at the U.S. Mission in Belize. This important role demands attentiveness, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining the safety and security of the Mission and its personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct supervision and guidance to the local guard force, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
• Develop and implement guard orders, deployment plans, and weekly schedules.
• Conduct regular musters and inspections of guards and guard posts, maintaining high standards of discipline and performance.
• Investigate irregularities and incidents, maintain accurate inventory reports, and recommend appropriate disciplinary or termination actions.
• Oversee and manage the refresher training program, ensuring compliance with all requirements and effectiveness in maintaining guard skills.
• Manage guard force logistics, including operation and maintenance of security equipment (e.g., explosive detection, x-ray).
• Serve as the primary point of contact with the COR and GTM for all operational matters related to the guard force.
• Ensure guards are properly uniformed, equipped, and staffed according to the contract specifications .
• Plan, coordinate, and lead the local guard force during integrated training and emergency response drills with the RSO and Marine Security Guard Detachment.
• Maintain a valid host-country driver's license for operational needs.
• Oversee and ensure quality control and contract compliance within the guard force operations.
• If applicable, complete and maintain firearms training and certification as per local regulations and contract requirements.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the use of the myLGP system (if implemented) to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications:

• Education: Completed secondary education, high school, or National Diploma.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in military, police, or guard force roles with proven leadership capabilities.
• Host Country Knowledge:
  • Citizen of Belize or valid work visa holder.
  • Fluent in local language(s).
  • English speaking/reading skill level S3/R3.
• Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy for writing reports, creating standard operating prwhich stateocedures, and using email effectively.
• Security Expertise: Advanced security training and experience with risk management, including problem identification and problem-solving.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with experience in motivating, mentoring, and disciplining personnel.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with guards, Mission personnel, and contract stakeholders.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
