Sanford Federal Inc. is seeking reliable and vigilant individuals to serve as Guards within the local guard force at the U.S. Mission in Belize. This important role demands attentiveness, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining the safety and security of the Mission and its personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Security Duties:
  • Perform security patrols at fixed posts, walking routes, or mobile patrol vehicles as assigned.
  • Monitor assigned areas for suspicious activity, potential threats, and unauthorized entry attempts.
  • Report any observed incidents or concerns to supervisors promptly and clearly.
  • Assist local authorities in responding to criminal or terrorist threats when necessary.
• Access Control:
  • Enforce access control procedures, verifying identification and authorization for entry to Mission facilities.
  • Operate security equipment such as walk-through metal detectors, hand-held scanners, and electronic barriers.
  • Maintain detailed records of all entry and exit activity for reporting purposes.
• Communication and Collaboration:
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and Mission personnel to ensure clear and timely information flow.
  • Report incidents and concerns accurately and concisely in both written and verbal formats.
  • Work collaboratively to maintain a safe and secure environment for everyone.

Qualifications:

• Education: Successfully completed primary school education.
• Language Skills: Fluent command of the local language Kriol with basic English proficiency.
• Security Awareness: Understanding of basic security principles and procedures.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to observe and report accurately on potential threats or unusual activity.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and maintain positive relationships.
• Additional Requirements (depending on position specifics):
  • Firearms training and certification (if identified as armed on Section J Exhibit A, as per local regulations and contract requirements).
• Personal Qualities:
  • Reliability, dedication, and commitment to duty.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
